One linen curtain hangs loosely against a sliding shoji screen in a dimly lit Kyoto machiya interior. The fabric is pale and slightly translucent, catching the flat, diffuse light of an overcast midday sky. Behind the sheer material, the dark wooden grid of the screen provides a stark, geometric contrast to the soft folds of the textile. A thin shadow stretches across the floorboards where the curtain meets the tatami edge. The quiet texture of traditional domestic life without any modern clutter.
