Vendor Polishing Brass Candlesticks at Hanoi Flea Market

Neon reflections slide across the curved brass surfaces of candlesticks resting on a weathered wooden table in a narrow French Quarter lane. A vendor's hands move rhythmically with a cloth, smoothing the metal in the dim, pre-dawn light. The heavy overcast sky diffuses the glow, casting a cool, blue-tinted sheen over the brass and the vendor's worn clothing. Nearby, closed shutters line the narrow passage, their paint peeling in the damp air. Dust hangs suspended in the beam of a hanging bulb, illuminating the texture of the metal and the grain of the wood. The vendor's fingers press firmly against the base of a tall candlestick, creating a small, bright highlight where the cloth meets the polished surface.
