Laundry Card Rack in Hague Bunker Stairwell

Soft, diffuse light from a window falls across pale concrete walls inside a narrow stairwell near The Hague. A metal rack stands low in the frame, its slots holding laundry exchange cards separated into sections for the armory, barracks, motor-pool, and training routines. White paper cards rest against the gray steel dividers, their edges casting thin shadows on the metal surfaces. Concrete steps rise vertically behind the rack, leading upward into the dimmer depths of the bunker. Late spring light falls through the window, illuminating the dust on the floor and the worn texture of the paper tags. The low angle emphasizes the height of the stairwell and the strict order of the cards against the rough concrete.
