Langur Monkey Leaping Through Irish Mountain Trees

Heavy overcast skies cast a flat, diffused light across a dense canopy of deciduous trees. A langur monkey hangs suspended in mid-air, its long tail curving behind it as it leaps from a moss-covered branch. The animal's grey fur contrasts with the deep greens and browns of the surrounding foliage. Low-angle perspective emphasizes the height of the leap and the reach of the limbs. Below, the forest floor is a tangle of fallen leaves and damp earth. The monkey's muscles are taut, frozen in the split second before landing on the next tree. Its dark eyes scan forward with sharp alertness against the muted, grey sky. One twig snaps under the weight of the landing.
