Amber sunset light floods the spacious interior of a prayer hall in Kelowna, illuminating rows of people seated cross-legged on the floor. Hundreds of diners share a communal meal served in stainless steel bowls, their presence creating a dense, quiet gathering. The polished concrete floor reflects the warm, copper-toned glow, stretching long and muted across the room. White prayer mats line the walls, against the dark wooden beams overhead. A low serving table holds stacks of white cloth napkins beside large metal pots. The stillness of the moment is anchored by the simple geometry of the seated bodies and the soft, directional light falling across their hands and laps. Shadows lengthen gently against the base of the walls.
