Jordan Border Ruin at Blue Hour in along a vine-choked corridor in Jordan

Jordan Border Ruin at Blue Hour

by Dawn Pollard

Vines choke the crumbling concrete walls of a border checkpoint in Jordan, their green leaves against the grey stone. A barrier arm stands raised permanently, silhouetted against the deep blue sky of early autumn evening. Reflected light from a nearby pool of water illuminates the damp surfaces, creating a shimmering glow on the mossy ground. Humid air hangs heavy after recent rain, visible as a soft haze blurring the distant horizon. The scene is framed naturally by overgrown branches, adding depth to the view. One crack in the pavement reflects the water's surface, mirroring the abandoned structure above.
