Jazz Quartet Busking in Riyadh Copper Light

by Mark Andrade

Copper-toned light spills across a dusty street corner in Riyadh where four musicians play instruments under an early winter sky. Thick smoke hangs low, catching the glow of nearby firelight warmth. The performers wear heavy coats against the cold season, standing beside a low stone wall typical of the region. Dramatic clouds loom above, heavy and textured. A striking anomaly defines the space: sharp shadows stretch from the musicians and their instruments backward, pointing directly toward the firelight source instead of away from it. The double-headed shadows create a visual paradox where the darkness seems to pull the light rather than block it. Dust motes swirl in the air, caught between the impossible geometry of the shadows and the warm glow.
