Silver winter light spills across the wet asphalt beneath a concrete underpass, illuminating a saxophonist standing beside a rain-darkened kiosk. The musician holds a brass instrument while an open case on the ground collects scattered coins. Wind funnels dry leaves and crumpled paper along the curb, creating a trail of debris that leads toward the performer. The rough texture of the damp pavement reflects the pale overhead glow, against the dark shadows of the structural beams overhead. Metal surfaces of the kiosk gleam with moisture, and the scattered coins catch the dim light in small, sharp flashes against the gray street.
