A Japanese Chin sits centered against a plain backdrop, its long silky coat catching the cool glow of neon lights. The dog's distinct flat muzzle and large dark eyes face the camera directly at eye level. Soft indigo twilight bleeds through the studio windows behind the subject, mixing with the electric blue and pink reflections on the fur. Warm interior shadows pool around the dog's paws and the lower edges of the frame, against the bright rim light. The wet season is hinted at by the slight sheen on the floor tiles. Fine details of the ear set and whiskers remain sharp under the artificial illumination. A brass nameplate on the collar reflects a streak of cyan light near the chest.
