Jade Buddha Statue Silhouetted in Ghaziabad Chapel
Broad midmorning light floods the Ghaziabad chapel, bouncing off pale walls to illuminate a seated jade Buddha statue within a deep alcove. The stone figure appears dark against the intense brightness streaming through stained glass, casting the face into a devotional silhouette. Warm interior shadows pool in the corners of the niche, against the cool, translucent green of the jade. Late summer heat seems to hang in the still air, visible only through the heavy, unmoving dust settling on the offering trays. Colorful patches of red and blue light spill across the floor, meeting the shadowed base of the statue where small bowls of fruit rest in stillness. A sharp edge of golden light defines the statue's shoulder against the dark wood of the frame.
