Iron Bollard in Hobart

A heavy iron bollard stands anchored in the damp cobblestones of Salamanca Place, its surface slick with the misty dawn moisture. The dark metal reflects the pale, diffuse light of the early morning sky, against the warm red lacquered wood of the nearby historic warehouses. One brass bell hangs from a rusted chain on the post, untouched by the passing fishermen who have already cleared the square. Water droplets rest on the textured grooves of the iron, slowly merging with the thin layer of fog that rests on the ground.
