Induction Coil Sparks in Harare Microscopy Lab

by Henrik Skinner

Blue electric arcs fracture the predawn darkness above a microscopy bench in a Harare laboratory. Condensation beads along the curved surface of a nearby glass slide, catching the faint monitor glow that illuminates the workspace. The induction coil sits centered, its copper windings stark against the shadows as sparks scatter in erratic bursts. Converging lines of the bench structure and equipment racks guide toward a vanishing point in the deep background. Instrument readouts cast soft green and amber reflections on the wet glass, against the cool blue of the discharge. Dust motes are absent, replaced by the sharp, disciplined focus of the experimental setup.
