Heat Shimmer Over Sydney Harbor Sunset

Waves of distorted air rise from the harbor mouth, blurring the water's surface into a liquid ribbon of gold and burnt orange. Fast-moving cloud bands dominate the upper third of the sky, their undersides glowing with the last intensity of late autumn sunlight. The horizon line cuts sharply across the frame, where the sun wraps the distant coastline in a soft, hazy halo. Dark silhouettes of harbor infrastructure rest against the bright water, their edges softened by the rising heat. Deep shadows stretch across the foreground, against the bright, shimmering air above. The water reflects the changing sky, turning from deep indigo to a warm, glowing amber at the water's edge.
