Soft, diffused afternoon light fills the narrow market lane in Tangier, illuminating a hatmaker working from behind. The artisan wears a worn apron stained with dye, their hands pressing a damp, dark brown felt cap over a rounded wooden block. Rough wood grain textures contrast with the smooth, malleable surface of the felt as the maker molds the brim. Behind them, colorful stalls display hanging textiles and woven goods, while autumn leaves scatter across the dusty stone ground. The light catches the curve of the wooden block and the subtle sheen of the wet wool. Dust motes hang suspended in the air, visible only where the soft light strikes the workspace.
