Haberdashery Counter in Naples

A narrow alley in Naples glows with the amber spill of a streetlamp against the deepening blue of a summer evening. On a weathered wooden counter outside a small haberdashery, a white plastic shirt hanger rests casually against a stack of folded linen, its hook catching a faint glint of light. Beside it, a cardboard fruit crate holds a few bruised peaches, their skins dimpled and soft, against the rigid geometry of the hanger. The rough stucco wall behind is painted a faded ochre, marked by decades of sun and rain. A hand reaches in from the right, adjusting the hanger with practiced ease, blurring slightly with motion.
