Mud rests on the tires of a heavy-duty suction rig parked beside stacked aluminum frames and boxed glass panes. The low angle emphasizes the weight of the machinery against the churned earth. Above, a clear midsummer sky darkens to deep indigo as the first electric bulbs of the city begin to glow in the distance. Temporary work lamps mounted on the rig cast a sharp, warm pool of light across the wet ground, highlighting splatters of clay and the metallic sheen of the aluminum. The glass boxes reflect the fading blue light, creating a stark contrast with the orange glow of the lamps. One puddle near the front bumper mirrors the rigid geometry of the stacked frames.
