Glass Thermometer on Enamel Tray

Cool blue twilight washes a white enamel tray resting on a wooden cafe table near a window. A glass thermometer lies diagonally across the center, its mercury column catching the dim ambient glow. The tray sits beside a window where the wet season sky outside appears as deep, saturated indigo. Condensation beads slightly on the cool glass surface. The enamel shows faint, circular wear marks around the rim, against the smooth transparency of the instrument. Shadows stretch long and soft across the table, defined by the low angle of the fading light. A small stack of papers lies just out of focus to the right, keeping the visual field uncluttered. The edge of the tray reflects a thin line of indigo light from the window.
