Geodesic Dome Shadow Pattern on Terminal Floor
by Alana Rosas
Dim blue evening light falls through high windows, casting a sharp geometric shadow of a geodesic dome structure onto the polished concrete floor. the mix of interior lamps creates small, rhythmic highlights across the smooth surface, reflecting the lattice lines of the projected pattern. Dark triangular segments alternate with lighter spaces, forming a complex tessellation that stretches across the wide expanse. Reflections in the floor duplicate the overhead architecture, creating a mirrored composition where the shadow and its reflection meet at a vanishing point. The monsoon atmosphere hangs heavy in the air, visible only through the cool, saturated blue tones of the fading daylight washing over the restored train terminal walls near Shankhari Bazaar. A faint reflection of a distant window frame breaks the symmetry at the far right edge.
