Fresh Butter Croissants on Almaty Picnic Blanket

Golden-brown pastry layers rise in flaky ridges across a woven picnic blanket patterned with red and beige geometric shapes. A pat of pale yellow butter rests on the topmost croissant, its surface catching the warm glow of a nearby tungsten lamp. The predawn darkness presses against the window edges, while a soft strip of natural light cuts across the table, highlighting the dust motes suspended in the air. Early autumn leaves pressed against the glass frame the view outside. The butter melts slightly into the crevices of the crust, creating a glossy sheen that contrasts with the matte flour dusting the blanket. A small ceramic plate holds a second croissant, its crust crisp and fractured under the weight of the butter.
