Dried Petal Texture on Frosty Harar Window

by Laila Berg

Crimson and brown veining maps the surface of a dried flower petal pressed against a windowpane. Frost crystals form jagged white spikes along the glass edge, framing the organic tissue in sharp relief. Cool blue twilight falls through the pane, casting a pale glow that highlights the petal's papery dryness and intricate cellular network. Inside, warm amber shadows pool in the room's corner, against the cold exterior light. The glass surface reflects faint interior shapes, adding depth to the translucent plant matter. Tiny cracks in the frost run parallel to the petal's veins, creating a geometric pattern against the organic curve. One frost shard rests at the corner, catching the last light of the day.
