Warm string lights drape across the bare concrete walls of a stair tower in Marseille, illuminating a brass door closer adjustment gauge mounted near the frame. The late spring evening brings a soft glow from the city outside, filtering through high windows to meet the artificial light. Converging lines of the concrete steps lead toward a distant vanishing point, showing the depth of the empty space. Weathered textures on the metal hardware contrast with the smooth, unfinished plaster. Quiet shadows pool along the base of the walls, marking the boundary between the work zone and the darkening corridor. A faint reflection on the polished brass surface mirrors the overhead bulb.
