Desert Pipeline Window Looking Indoors in along a dam spillway in Iran

Desert Pipeline Window Looking Indoors

by Drake Vasquez

Red desert dirt stretches beneath a heavy steel pipeline wrapped in black tar, running along a concrete dam spillway under a perfectly clear sky. The midday sun casts sharp, hard shadows across the rough ground and metallic surfaces. At the center of the frame, the pipeline itself transforms into a rectangular window frame. Through this impossible aperture, a sterile indoor room with white walls and a wooden floor is visible, defying the outdoor setting. The converging lines of the spillway draw toward this surreal opening, creating a jarring juxtaposition between the arid exterior and the enclosed interior space. The tar wrapping appears thick and textured, against the smooth, artificial light spilling from the window. A shadow from the window frame falls across the red dirt, at the base of the impossible geometry in the harsh light.
