Cyclist Breathing Mist Before Dawn by Riverbank
Cool season mist hangs low over the riverbank near Harare, softening the morning light into a pale, diffused glow. A cyclist in dark training gear leans heavily against a concrete road barrier, their body angled sharply by the Dutch tilt of the frame. Visible breath plumes from their mouth, mixing with turf spray and kicked-up grit that suspend in the still air. The road surface shows damp patches reflecting the grey sky. Concrete blocks line the barrier, weathered and stained with green algae. The cyclist's muscles tense under a tight jersey, knees bent in a moment of exhausted recovery. Dust motes float in the weak light, catching the edge of a helmet strap against the throat. The river water below moves slowly, its surface obscured by the fog.
