Copper Watering Can on Bedside Table Before Dawn
by Edward Rose
Soft tungsten light pools across a polished copper watering can resting on a wooden bedside table. The metal surface holds a warm, amber glow, catching faint reflections from the nearby lamp shade. A small patch of green leafy plant sits beside the can, its edges blurred in the dim morning air. The wood grain of the table runs horizontally, textured and slightly worn. Deep shadows occupy the corners of the frame, leaving the subject isolated in a circle of light. The copper shows subtle scratches and a duller patina near the spout, against the bright sheen on the handle. A small glass of water nearby catches a thin, sharp highlight. The object rests heavily against the dark wood. at the edge is the reflection of the lamp filament stretching across the curved belly of the can.
