Copper Toned Drumlin Shoreline at Dusk in along a wave-cut shoreline in Azerbaijan

Copper Toned Drumlin Shoreline at Dusk

by Kyle Ahmed

Rolling hills of earth and stone stretch along the wave-cut edge of a lake in Azerbaijan, their rounded forms softened by the first light of early winter. A perfectly clear sky transitions from pale blue to deep copper above the horizon, casting a warm golden glow across the undulating terrain. The water below acts as a perfect mirror, duplicating the silhouette of the drumlins and the fading light in a seamless, symmetrical reflection. Dry grasses rest on the slopes in muted browns and ochres, while the shoreline reveals smooth, water-worn gravel. The reflection creates a doubled landscape where the boundary between earth and water dissolves into a single, expansive surface of copper and shadow. The lowest slope meets the glassy water, its texture distinct against the smooth reflection of the hill above.
