A sable and white Collie lies curled on a narrow wooden window seat, its thick ruff and distinct muzzle shape clearly defined by warm side light. The dog rests against a low backrest, its ears folded softly in a state of quiet repose. Outside the glass, faint outlines of traditional Suzhou architecture and autumn foliage blur into the evening haze. Inside, the room features polished dark wood flooring and a woven mat beneath the seat. Soft, honeyed light from a nearby candle casts long, gentle shadows across the dog's fur and the grain of the timber. The 135mm lens compresses the view, isolating the animal against the soft backdrop of the apartment interior. A small ceramic bowl sits on the floor nearby, its rim catching a glint of the ambient glow.
