Coiled Rope in Dakar

A coil of thick, weathered hemp rope rests on the rough wooden planks of a Senegalese pirogue docked at the blue hour. The dim twilight reflects off the dark, rippling water that laps gently against the hull, creating soft silver highlights along the rope's twisted fibers. Nearby, the curved wooden prow of the boat points toward the fading horizon, where the last light of day meets the deepening sea. One metal cleat, tarnished by salt air, anchors the end of the rope to the boat's deck.
