Wooden Rowing Shell in Copenhagen

A wooden rowing shell rests on a metal cradle in the sheltered harbor of Copenhagen, its hull reflecting the flat winter noon light. The dark varnish of the wood shows signs of wear, with scuff marks along the gunwales where oars have been stowed over many seasons. Behind the boat, the calm gray water of the canal mirrors the overcast sky and the distant brick facades of the city. One yellow mooring buoy floats nearby, tethered to the dock by a thick black rope that bobs gently in the cold air.
