Cider Press Crushing Apples in Stone Barn Laos

Soft overcast light fills the interior of an old stone barn where a heavy cider press crushes red apples. Chaff and fine dust drift slowly through the air, catching the flat glow from the open doorway. Freshly irrigated rows of crops stretch outside the barn entrance, leading toward distant hills under a pale sky. The rough texture of the stone walls contrasts with the smooth, wet skins of the crushed fruit piling in the trough. Wooden beams support the high ceiling, while layers of depth recede from the foreground machinery into the shadowed rear of the structure. One apple rests against the press wheel, its skin glistening with moisture.
