Cathedral Organ Pipes Rise Above Ponce Theater Stage

Tall golden organ pipes ascend forty feet from the wooden choir loft, dominating the theater stage in Ponce. Broad skylight floods the space with bright midmorning light, casting gentle shadows across the polished metal surfaces. Dramatic clouds fill the high windows, their gray and white forms visible against the sky. The rainy season brings a soft, diffused quality to the illumination, highlighting the vertical lines of the instrument. Dust particles float in the light beams, catching the brightness. The low angle emphasizes the sheer height of the pipes against the darkened stage floor. One brass valve glints at the base of the central pipe cluster.
