Flattened noon light floods the north-facing window, casting the orange tabby in soft gray sidelight while deep shadows pool in the room's corners. The cat sits rigid on a wooden windowsill, its gaze fixed on blurred greenery outside. Behind the glass, rain streaks the pane, blurring the view of a nearby porch rocking chair. Warm yellow glow from an unlit lamp fixture settles in the background, against the cool, flat daylight. The cat's fur catches a faint highlight along the spine, while its whiskers press forward. One droplet of rain rests on the lower edge of the glass pane.
