Molten golden light floods the ribbed concrete lobby in Retalhuleu, illuminating the rough texture of the structural walls. Through the open archway, a cantilevered house extends dramatically over a deep wooded ravine. The dry season leaves the forest canopy a mix of muted greens and dusty browns below. Humid air hangs heavy in the warm air after recent rain, visible as a soft haze settling in the ravine. Converging architectural lines draw toward the vanishing point where the structure meets the tree line. The disciplined geometry of the concrete contrasts with the organic chaos of the forest, while a sharp shadow falls across the wet concrete floor near the threshold.
