Cacao Tree Pods on Shelf in Predawn Light

Predawn darkness fills a workshop corner where a small cacao tree stands on a wooden shelf. Thick, ribbed pods cling directly to the brown trunk, their surfaces rough and matte against the dim glow. A projector beam cuts across the dark walls, illuminating the tree in a sharp, circular pool of pale light while the rest of the room sinks into deep shadow. Late spring is hinted at by the fresh green of the few leaves visible near the top. The light reveals the texture of the bark and the distinct ridges of the pods. Shadows stretch long and hard from the shelf edges, ending in a stark contrast where the beam hits the plain wall behind the plant.
