Botswana Mine Headframe Under Predawn Security Lights in along a service road lined with pipes in Botswana

Botswana Mine Headframe Under Predawn Security Lights

by Hassan McIntyre

Harsh security lights slice through predawn darkness, illuminating a towering steel mine headframe beside a service road lined with heavy pipes. Wet concrete reflects the harsh artificial glow, turning the ground into a mirror for the industrial structure. Fine dust hangs suspended in the beams of light, creating visible shafts against the dark sky. Thick hoses dangle from the metal framework, their rubber surfaces slick with moisture. The dry season air remains still as the light scatters through the particulate matter. Leading lines of the road and pipes draw toward the base of the massive headframe where a shadow falls sharply against the wet pavement.
