Blood Moon Eclipse Over Sana'a Desert Escarpment in beneath a wind-cut desert escarpment near Sana'a

Blood Moon Eclipse Over Sana'a Desert Escarpment

by Terry Short

A deep crimson moon dominates the night sky, hanging low above the jagged silhouette of a wind-sculpted desert escarpment. The rock face, carved by centuries of arid winds, rises in dark, textured layers against the faint atmospheric haze. Below, a small fire burns with orange and yellow flames, casting warm, flickering light onto the rough stone and the figures seated nearby. Their silhouettes remain still, framed by the glow. The firelight reflects in a shallow pool of water at the foreground, creating a perfect mirrored image of the burning embers and the dark rocks. The cold, dry air is visible in the sharp clarity of the distant horizon, contrasting the intimate warmth of the fire with the vast, frozen darkness of the desert night.
