Bicycle Frame in George Town
by Sandra Baker
Bright midday sunlight floods a shaded alleyway in George Town, illuminating a cluttered wooden workbench where a local artisan repairs a vintage bicycle frame. The foreground is dominated by the worn hands of the craftsman, his fingertips coated in white chalk dust as he applies a sealant to the metal joints. Behind him, the deep blue and green tiled facade of a shophouse provides a textured backdrop, against the rusted red brick of the adjacent wall. A sudden gust of wind lifts the corner of a faded blue tarp, revealing a glimpse of the wet pavement below where a puddle reflects the sky.
