Flat noon light washes over a narrow Mexico City street corner where a wrought-iron garden gate stands slightly ajar, revealing a glimpse of a courtyard shaded by a sprawling vine. The heat distorts the air above the cobblestones, highlighting the rough texture of aged stucco walls painted in faded terracotta and ochre. A local vendor adjusts a basket tray filled with colorful ceramic pots, the wicker casting sharp, geometric shadows against the plaster wall beside him. Nearby, a pair of aprons hangs from a line strung between two balconies, fluttering minimally in the stagnant air. The quiet rhythm of daily life, with the mix of light and shadow defining the space more than any single object.
