Bar Table in Valencia
by Liam Kaufman
A narrow alleyway in Valencia’s historic center glows under the deep indigo of blue hour, where the warm, amber spill from an open tapas bar window cuts across the damp cobblestones. On a small, weathered wooden table just outside the entrance, a ceramic espresso cup sits beside a half-eaten plate of fresh orange segments, their bright citrus hue popping against the shadowed stone. A woven hand broom leans casually against the white stucco wall, its bristles dusted with street grit, while a few potted succulents on the sill catch the last ambient light. The quiet transition of evening, with the city’s vibrant energy settling into a calm, lived-in rhythm.
