A narrow alley in Valencia’s Barrio del Carmen glows under the deep blue twilight, where a local laundry worker pauses beside a rusted metal bucket perched on a weathered stone step. Behind him, a faded door frame holds a cluster of wooden brooms leaning against the plaster, their bristles dusty from daily use. The cool ambient light reflects off the wet cobblestones, against the warm, faint yellow spill from a nearby café window. One white bath towel hangs from a line strung between buildings, damp and heavy, swaying slightly in the evening breeze. A quiet moment of labor and rest, framed by the textured walls and the soft, diffused light of the approaching night.
