Balinese Water Blessing in Jakarta Prayer Hall

Rich amber sunset light floods the prayer hall, illuminating dust motes that drift through the humid air. A group of people in traditional Balinese attire gathers around a low stone basin filled with water. Outside the open archways, a light drizzle streaks the air, visible against the darkening sky of the rainy season. The floor reflects the golden glow, creating a shimmering path toward the participants. Intricate floral offerings in red and yellow sit on woven mats beside the basin. Hands cup water gently, splashing it into the air where droplets catch the fading light. The wooden beams overhead show signs of age, against the vibrant colors of the sashes worn by the attendees. One droplet hangs from the rim of a brass vessel, ready to fall.
