Golden hour light slants across a weathered stucco facade in Trastevere, illuminating a cluster of terracotta pots where vibrant zinnias spill over the edges, their petals catching the warm glow. Below, a wrought-iron balcony railing holds a half-empty glass carafe and a chipped ceramic drinking vessel, left out after an evening aperitivo. A few pigeons rest on the ledge, their iridescent necks shimmering in the low sun, while a white curtain lifts slightly in the open window behind them, revealing a glimpse of a dimly lit interior.
