Aurora Borealis Reflected in Misty Fjord

Vast sheets of pale green and violet light stretch across a sky heavy with low-hanging mist. Below, a dark fjord acts as a perfect mirror, duplicating the celestial ribbons in its glassy surface. Snowfields blanket the distant slopes, their white texture softened by the thick fog that rests on the water. The predawn darkness is not absolute; a faint, diffuse ground glow illuminates the mist from below, creating a soft gradient between the dark water and the luminous sky. No stars pierce the cloud layer, yet the aurora remains distinct against the grey atmosphere. The reflection holds steady, merging the horizon line into a seamless band of shimmering color. A thin ridge of snow on the far bank breaks the symmetry of the water.
