Sunlight strikes a vibrant turquoise bakery counter in Kreuzberg, illuminating a chaotic stack of yellow paper bags and a worn wicker basket holding stiff white dish towels. A baker’s arm, clad in a flour-dusted apron, reaches past the towels to adjust a stack of ceramic plates, their movement blurring slightly against the sharp geometry of the tiled wall behind. The flat noon light washes out shadows, showing the saturated blue of the counter against the warm beige of the bread loaves visible in the glass case.
