Andean Musician with Quena by Canal

Sunlight skims low across the weathered skin of an Andean musician standing beside a concrete canal in Mixco. The musician's cheeks show deep red sunburn patches against tan skin, framed by a traditional woven headband. A wooden quena rests against their lips, its carved holes catching the early morning light. Low-hanging gray clouds obscure the sky, casting a soft, diffused glow over the wet concrete embankment. Rainy season moisture glistens on the musician's dark jacket and the smooth surface of the flute. The composition places the face at the right intersection of the frame, leaving the canal's straight edge to define the left side. One droplet of water rests on the tip of the quena, reflecting the dull gray of the overcast sky.
