Amulet on Linen Box in Herat Pier

Soft, diffused light washes over a small keepsake box resting on the weathered wood of a pier railing in Herat. The box opens to reveal a soft, pale linen lining that cradles a metal amulet. Patina marks the surface of the amulet, showing careful wear and age. Indirect light bounces off pale walls nearby, creating gentle shadows that define the object's edges. Early autumn leaves a quiet stillness in the air, visible in the way the light settles on the textured wood and the tarnished metal. The composition leaves ample negative space around the subject, showing the solitary nature of the object against the rustic background. A thin beam of sunlight falls across the corner of the box, highlighting the grain of the wood.
