Rain slicks the asphalt outside the emergency entrance of a Chandigarh hospital, where a white ambulance rests under the sweep of a lighthouse-style floodlight. The beam cuts through the dark early spring night, illuminating droplets falling in sharp vertical lines. Red and blue monitor lights from inside the vehicle reflect off the wet metal rails and stainless steel counters lining the entrance. The hospital facade stands in shadow, its concrete texture softened by the mist. Puddles gather near the curb, mirroring the artificial glow. The ambulance doors remain closed, their surfaces gleaming with moisture. one drop of water slides down the side of the emergency bay door, catching the light before vanishing into the wet ground.
