Red emergency stripes glow faintly against the deep shadow of a white ambulance body as it sits on rough, uneven cobblestones. The vehicle is framed tightly, filling the view with its curved front bumper and the glass of its windshield reflecting the bruised purple of early autumn clouds. A sharp rim light traces the edge of the hood and the curve of the side mirror, separating the machine from the inky darkness of the hospital entrance behind. Dust coats the lower bumper, and the texture of the ancient stones presses against the tires. One red reflector on the grille catches the faint ambient glow, marking the boundary between the clinical white paint and the heavy night air.
