Aerial mangrove creeks weave dark veins through Bali mudflats

Sunlight falls through a canopy overhead, dappling the water below with shifting patches of bright reflection and deep shadow. Dark, branching channels cut through expansive, wet mudflats that stretch toward a hazy horizon. The water appears almost black in the deeper troughs, contrasting sharply with the pale, glistening clay exposed at the edges. Green foliage crowns the islands of vegetation, their leaves creating a textured mosaic against the smooth, viscous surface of the tidal flats. Distant haze softens the far edges of the landscape, blending the sky into the low-lying land. A cluster of roots anchors into the soft earth at the very corner, holding the soil in place.
