A wet street corner in Taipei glistens under the diffused, cool light of early morning, with rain-slicked asphalt reflecting the neon glow of nearby signage. A delivery worker pauses beside a scooter, adjusting a bright yellow scarf against the damp chill, the fabric vivid against the grey concrete. The scene is framed by the overhang of a traditional tiled roof, its dark curves against the modern glass facade of a convenience store across the way. Steam rises subtly from a nearby street vendor’s pot, blending with the mist hanging low over the pavement.
