Adjusting Scarf in Milan

Misty dawn light falls through the high, narrow windows of a historic Milanese palazzo, illuminating a narrow stone staircase where a local resident pauses to adjust a thick wool scarf against the chill. The soft, diffused glow catches the condensation on the glass panes, blurring the view of the fog-shrouded courtyard beyond. Beside the stairwell, a vintage brass boot scraper stands ready near the entrance, its surface worn smooth by decades of use. A trailing vine climbs the damp masonry wall, its leaves glistening with moisture, while the quiet street below remains empty, wrapped in the pale blue haze of early morning.
